About

My Story...

I was raised in an Air Force family which gave me an upbringing filled with

diversity. It developed in me a sense of adventure, loyalty, patriotism and

family. It also presented me with the challenges of packing up frequently,

leaving my friends and facing the sometimes difficult task of making new

ones. That type of upbringing was extremely instrumental in molding what

would become the career path that I have chosen.

My educational pursuits have earned me a degree in business and

counseling. Although I have had a variety of careers throughout my life,

helping people has given me the most satisfaction. I arrived in Colorado in

1996, and spent ten years working with adults with developmental disabilities. Currently I volunteer with the Colorado Civil Air Patrol, serving in their search and rescue, as well as the youth programs. It is very rewarding to interact with members of the Armed Services.

When I began my practice in 2007 I worked with male sex offenders. Presently, my main focus is my general private practice. Trauma is my specialty, but I am also qualified and enjoy couples and family therapy, or any general mental health issues. Spending time with people who need someone to listen is what makes my career choice the most gratifying.

Qualifications

I hold a Master of Arts in Counseling from the University of Phoenix; I am a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner ® specializing in Trauma and PTSD, using the latest Somatic Experiencing ® treatment techniques. I am also an Addictions Counselor, and a Licensed Professional Counsellor.
